Music Group Classes
First Steps in music
First Steps in Music is our introductory program designed for young learners ages 4 to 9. It combines individual lessons with a dynamic group class where kids get their first taste of performing together.
In the group class, we focus on the beginnings of practice performance, helping young musicians get comfortable playing in front of others in a fun, supportive setting. Alongside that, the group works together on a song, collaborating as a team to prepare a piece for the end of term recital. It’s a blend of musical games, collaboration, and building the confidence to share what they’ve learned.
The program is designed for beginners with no experience needed.
Group Class
At CoJa Music Academy, our First Steps in Music program offers an engaging group performance class designed to develop essential performance skills in young musicians. This group class complements our private music lessons by providing each child the chance to perform individually, building confidence and stage presence.
During each session, students:
- Perform a song for their peers and receive personalized tips from experienced instructors on how to improve
- Learn important stage skills, including how to hold and use a microphone, greet an audience with confidence, and what to say when opening a show
- Participate in musical games and collaborative group song practice, encouraging them to play instruments and sing together
This group class is an exciting way for children to put their private music lessons into action, helping them develop the performance skills needed for our end-of-semester recital. At CoJa Music Academy, our mission is to inspire young musicians through supportive, hands-on experiences that make music learning fun and rewarding!
