Songwriting class

Who and What We Teach — Singer-Songwriter Ensemble

Our Singer-Songwriter Ensemble is a weekly songwriting class where students come together to write, collaborate, and share original music. Led by Taylor Meloche, this program is designed for anyone ages 12 and up who wants to explore the craft of songwriting in a supportive, creative environment.

Think of it as a hands-on songwriting course. Taylor brings like-minded musicians together to work on composition, helping you develop your ideas from a spark into a finished song. Whether you’re brand new to songwriting lessons or have a notebook full of half-finished lyrics, you’ll find your people here.

Some of the skills we cover include idea generation, turning a thought, a feeling, or a riff into a song. We explore form and structure so you understand how verses, choruses, and bridges work together. We dive into chords and harmony to find the right progression to support your melody. And we work on accompaniment ideas, arranging your song for voice, guitar, piano, or whatever you play.

About Taylor Meloche

Taylor Meloche is passionate about songwriting and brings that energy to every session. She’s skilled at creating a space where students feel comfortable sharing their work, giving and receiving feedback, and growing as writers. You can find some of her original music here.
